One chilly morning, little Molly woke up with sparkling eyes and an eager heart. The calendar showed the 1st of December. It was finally time to prepare for Christmas! Beside her, Ruby, her adorable little dog with fur as red as autumn leaves, wagged her tail excitedly.
Molly stretched and whispered to Ruby, “Today, we start our Christmas preparations!” Ruby barked in agreement, and off they went to the attic to bring down the decorations.
As Molly pulled out boxes filled with baubles, lights, and tinsel, Ruby’s curious nose poked around, sniffing each one. Among the decorations, Molly found a little note from last Christmas. It read, “Make this year even more magical!” Molly smiled. “Let’s do it, Ruby!”
The living room became a whirl of colors. Ruby, with a tinsel collar, played fetch with ornament balls, making Molly laugh. Together, they hung twinkling lights around the room, making it shine like a starry night.
Next, it was time to pick the perfect Christmas tree. Molly and Ruby, bundled up in warm scarves, headed to the nearby forest. After much searching, Molly found a tree that was tall, green, and just perfect. With a little effort and Ruby’s encouragement, they brought it home.
Setting up the tree was a joyous task. Ruby tried to help by handing Molly the decorations using her mouth, but sometimes she’d get distracted and playfully chase after them instead. When the tree was finally adorned with twinkling lights, shining baubles, and a golden star at the top, both of them sat down, admiring their work. The tree radiated a soft, warm glow, and the whole room felt magical.
But no Christmas preparation would be complete without baking a Christmas cake! Molly tied on her apron and Ruby sat by the kitchen door, watching intently. Molly mixed the batter, adding fruits and spices that filled the kitchen with a delightful aroma. Ruby’s nose twitched, catching the sweet scent of the cake. Once the cake was in the oven, Molly made a little dough bone for Ruby and baked it alongside the cake.
As evening approached, the cake was ready. Its sweet fragrance filled the house. Molly decorated it with white icing and ruby-red cherries, while Ruby munched happily on her dough bone.
Tired but content, Molly and Ruby sat by the fireplace, watching the flames dance. The house looked magical with the decorations and the tree, and the promise of a joyful Christmas loomed in the air.
Molly whispered, “This is the most magical Christmas preparation ever.” Ruby, resting her head on Molly’s lap, woofed in agreement.
And as the first snowflakes of the season began to fall outside, Molly and Ruby, surrounded by the warmth of their home and the love they shared, drifted off to dream of the wonderful Christmas that awaited them.
